ive got a transit 2007 plate i like it. plenty of space in the rear and comfortable ,looks good . down side is there are vans with better fuel consumption but im happy cause my round is very local.. and not to sure how long before it gets rusty cause transits do tend to rust a bit quicker than other makes,

Double check the payload as different models have slight variations, I have the t260 but only have a 901kilo payload, which could be problematic if I were running a 2 man system

I have 56 transit, not for very long so can't give feedback about reliability.
Very nice to drive, lots of space at the back. love it

but it rusts. around the arches, bottom where the sliding door is, top of front windscreen.
have looked at many transits before bought my one and they all rust at the same places.

personally but would not change it to another van

tranist imo are better than a vivaro and a relay.

nice load space reliable, yep can get a little rust, but it you look after them they treat you well, out of all my vans I like the transit the most, vivaro load space is quit a bit small, realy is on par with transit for space.

Good vans. But crap on fuel.

I have 08plate. It drives nice, looks good, and nice inside.

Like any van, especially when, carrying a few hundred litres of water, gou will get issue's. I feel that as an owner of a transit (and a blody landrover) tgen you should have a basic understanding of mechanical repairs.

My,transit just failed Mot on rear leaf springs (common fault) would probably cost a bob or 2 at a garage, but I dont mind getting my hands dirty.

But yeh, apart from fuel consumption and Basic maintenance, there good vans.

Its worth noting, that if you ever have a flat battery, DO NOT bump start the mk7 transit, as the sudden 'shock' on the timing chain can cause damage, something to do with the pullegs being driven by oil pressure I thinlk... Dont get me wrong, it will not happen,to every van that is bumped,,,, but It could

look at a rear end of a new tranny, now look at a rear end of a tranny from thr 60s, very little difference. All Ford are interested in is mass production, and this is what they achieve.
I have owned transits and driven works transits in the past, and for this reason im saying their poope, there are many more sexier vans out there folks

vivaro's are sexier looking  I have one, but the transit is bigger in the back, unless Alex starts making his poles shorter closed lenght I am going to have to get more transits to fit them in, so really it all rest on Alex Gardiner, unless hes also making a van for his systems and poles  ;D

Anyone one noticed the engines run funny in the new transits? The company have just renewed their fleet from the last shape and the new ones seem to idle Terribly. A few of them seem to cut out if left idling. I think they are cracking vans but just that the idle seems bad on some. I've had one of ours to a mechanic who was gutting a huffing but the computer he plugged in said it was running fine!

I have driven a few transits over the years and they all had one thing in common...so bloomin sluggish!  :o barely get rolling and you have to change gear!
