Operating from side van doors
« on: April 13, 2012, 10:27:02 pm »
hi

goung to be fitting my set up in my van in the next week or so hopefully..

i have a scudo which has the rear doors and 2 sliding side doors

the way its set up i have it boarded out right across the width of the van from side door to side door... so i have my other gear for other services in the backdoor end....

i aim to place a flat tank and my WFP pole set up in the top half of the van accesible from the slidng doors... the flat tank takes up a canny chunk of the floor space in the top half.... i then plan on boarding across above the tank and placing (securely) my folded down trolley system which will feed direct into the tank ,, this will alongside a 100 mtrs of reeled microbore hose to feed off from...

1, will this work?

2. should i set it up so i can operate from either sliding door ... or one?

i'm thinking one as depending on the side where the trolley pump controls are if i go out the opposite door with the hose reel i'll have to go around the other side to switch on etc....

i have this in my head .. help and ideas appreciated

thanks
Paul

Ive got a Peugeot expert mate - I run the reel out of nearside door which is sat/secured on top of top my tank next to controller
I've sorted/work  my round so that mostly I'm always parked so that I can just open door and reel straight out - sometimes tho I either chuck hose over roof of van!! Or pull out enough for what I need
The beauty of having two side doors tho, is you have the option now and again to reel out both sides (I struggle to reel back tho coz when it's opposite side you reel backwards)

i i'm running all those cunundrums through my head... think i'll join you on the nearside door option... when the trolley is folded on the shelf above the tank i'll have it side ways so the controller is facing outward on that door side for ease.. otherwiise it;ll be facing into the van towards the back doors and i'll have to lean in and adjust so the idea of operating it from both sides is now swaying towards just the one side... yeah over the roof is an option i suppose i didnt consider... jsut want it to be slick and right,,,
