Hi
Have you considered an apoint?

I was roofing for several years and I wish we had ladders like these then!
I have never felt safer up a ladder and they are so versatile, especially if you are not too tall like me you put the point in the corner of the reveal or on the mullion and the work is right in front of you - no stretching or over reaching.

Buy yourself a triple combi ladder with a wide base very safe and versatile.

I bought an A point extension ladder off ebay. It's 100 times better than normal ladder which I tried to use before.
My one is used but not worn too much and it was only 100 quid where brand new one costs around 250. It has taken me a while before I found it and won the auction tho..

When I started I got wooden ladders. They are very hard to come by now but i personaly think they are safer than ali. They have less springy bounciness and are sturdier in the wind. They have more weight about them but I'm defo no strong man and was fine, you adapt. Also spikes are fantastic makes the base less likely to slip. Wooden last a life time if looked after. I love my ladders and my ladders love me (^_^).

This is where I got mine from and they are the best ladders I've ever bought. I bought them on recommendation from a friend.

I forgot to say i got a 8 rung double normal set for upstairs and a separate single smaller pointer with a rubber top to protect frames for downstairs. I would not personally recommend getting a tall pointer right away if you're just starting out as I have rolled the little one a few times... embarrassing, but a few feet up and its serious! Maybe I'm just clumsy and they are ok, because I've never actually climbed one but that's my thoughts.(^_^). Take care.

Get one of these aswell. Thie link below is direct to the manufacturer's ebay sales (Cousins and Whitehouse in Birmingham). Top quality item and service. They also sell ladder clamps.

Another great dealer for service, but not always the cheapest is Ladderstore.
