ionics poles
« on: April 13, 2012, 06:43:12 am »
i thought id look at some of their poles as im after a 40-45ft pole and im probably going to order a gardiners supermax 40.just interested what else is out there.the thing is i couldnt see their online shop without registering with them then within a few days a get a big flashy catalogue and a few phone calls offering to demo the poles.

their 40ft glyder pole is £900 and thats without VAT added.also their poles are not the length stated but "reach" length.

their catalogue looks fantastic though! their systems look top notch but i think their poles are too expensive.

the gardiners 40ft supermax would cost me £563 including VAT plus i can add 2 sections at a later date to take me up to 50ft.

also im not sure what the closed lengths are on the ionic poles as their measurements are in metres not feet.i think its confusing when some manufacturers dont offer poles thats are the actual length of the pole.

what are you thoughts guys?

regards

its a strange fact that a 50 foot pole costs many hundreds of pounds but a 50 foot ladder does not.
maybe the pole makers might  argue that its new technology blah blah but somebody somewhere is making a real packet out of these poles .

out of interest  ,wheres the actual man who actually makes the poles ????

The sections are made abroad then imported and assembled in this country.

Think they come from Sweden.

Not saying how Ionics do it but think thats how Gardiners do it .... Sure Alex will correct me if Im wrong  ;)

I registered on their website before Christmas and I've had no more spam than the few I normally get each week.

don't know where your looking but ionics 40ft glyder isnt £900

its £400 + vat, so £480 including vat, and thats with free delivery.

I have a 30ft glyer.  Excellent pole.

Nothing more annoying than people linking a website that you need to create an account to view.

ive never brought a gardiners pole before, but i like the idea of being able to buy seperate pieces of carbon.i also looked online at buying tubes of carbon and making a pole myself but it would work out more expensive

your wrong nic!!A 40FT GLYDER WITH GOOSENECK IS £900!!WITHOUT VAT ADDED!!im looking at their flashy catalogue as i speak!so this pole would cost me twice as much as an equivelent gardiners supermax 40.probably heavier and not as long as its "reach" length not "actual" length!!

supermax 40 it is then!! ;) ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
