Need new pressure washer
« on: April 03, 2012, 03:02:15 pm »
Hi.

I'm in need of upgrading my pressure washer.

I'm looking for a machine 15 Ltrs per min at around 3000 psi.

My budget is around £700-£800.

I don't really know what I should be looking for in terms of reliability and durability.

Does anyone have any recomendations for a good machine. Mainly used for drives / patios.

Thanks

M W.

Personally given the cost of diesel versus the cost of petrol I would go for a diesel but I've never heard of a Hyundai diesel so cannot comment on that particular engine except I would'nt buy one. I have a perfectly good 13hp Honda sat in my container that I replaced with a 14hp Lombardini 200bar @ 21 ltrs and the saving on fuel paid for it in the first year.

I plan on using a rotary cleaning attachments that has max of 1000 Ltr per hour.

If I buy a pressure washer that runs 21 Ltr per min, can I reduce the amount of water so
I can still use the rotary that i've already got? Does this reduce the psi or can you do it separately?

Thanks

I have a very good hongda gx240 (8hp) with an interpump ws151 + gearbox, does 150 bar @ 15 litres per minute, excellent condition and just serviced, ideal for mounting on a van, comes with 15 metre hose and lance, lots of new parts including unloader valve, air filter, trigger gun, all brand new parts, runs mint, not got round to putting it on a frame yet so would take £400 as it is, it's suprisingly powerfull for a 150 bar machine due to the fact that it runs at 15 litres, if I put this on a trolley I would expect it to bring around the £500 mark on ebay being in excellent condition and serviced. let me know if tyour interested, I am based in Wigan, north West... as for reducing the power in a 21 litre machine a simple answer would be to not buy it as opposed to tampering about with it, just go for a 15 litre machine... like the 1 i ahve for sale... ;D ;D ;D ;D

Reducing the revs will reduce the flow and also the pressure for a given nozzle size. Pressure may be reduced whilst maintaining flow by increasing the nozzle size. A smaller machine will be ok for using with a hot box for grafitti by is badly limited for drive cleaning - 13 hp petrol or 10 hp diesel @ 15 ltrs/min is as small as you need. Unless of course you just need to clean your mower ;)

Open to offers and you will need to collect in West Midlands Solihull 5 Minutes from Birmingham Airport Junction 6 of M42
