I think there is really nothing to worry about. from a wc point of view.
In most cases the disease has been contracted through direct contact with poultry.
Only thing I would avoid is back yards with chickens or hens in them, just to be on the safe side.

Hi Matt

My husband is Turkish and we have Turkish sattelite tv so we are watching the news bulletins everyday. sometimes things dont get reported back in a completely accurate way so i dont think window cleaners need to feel at risk or anything.
Regarding those that died, they were teenagers living in eastern Turkey (which by the way is definately not right on our doorstep or even remotely near the tourist areas in Turkey). These people live amongst chickens and livestock on a daily basis so they didnt catch it by playing near ducks on a lake or anything.

Hope the stops anyone from panicking and if you are considering Turkey for your summer holiday this year, then dont be put off because it really is a wonderful place.

Take care
Claire
