I believe the ban to have taken effect as of december 2011 .By leading brands i refer to most "paint strippers".
I originally used this waterbased stripper for removing Resiblock polyurethane block paving sealer from  a drivewaybefore applying acrylic seal  but now use it for all my stripping jobs ,driveways,Masonry paint,varnish, graffiti  etc. Cheers chris

Not AS1 is it? sounds impressive anyway.

Not As1 but it is manufactured  by john . Have you used Johns products yourself?

Had a tester of AS1 which I tried, not that impressed with it, but it was a deck strip I was doing. I think AS1 is better for the polyurethane (Resiblock) removal. I make my own strippers for wood, then I can control the strength I need pending on what I am removing.

Hi Guys! Just thought i would let you know how i got on with the decking clean, Thanks for all your advice, in the end i used Owartol products. Used there stripper called prepdeck which worked really well, it removed all the old stain no problem, then used net-trol also by owartol as a restorer, it came up really well, customer very happy, he's going to apply some oil himself. thanks again for advice

Used there stripper called prepdeck which worked really well, it removed all the old stain no problem, then used net-trol also by owartol as a restorer, it came up really well, customer very happy, he's going to apply some oil himself. thanks again for advice

Shot in the dark really but we are doing a charity project for a local school who have children with severe learning difficulties.

The project involves the renovation of a 1950's Octagonal Paddling Pool.  On the walls running round the pool was seating made out of decking which we have removed with the intention of renovating.  Having looked at it more closely I think it may have had it's day.  Question is any idea where the best place to purchase replacement would be?  If we do replace with new what would it be best to treat it with prior to fitting?
