what to do with my stalker customer
« on: March 15, 2012, 10:02:07 pm »
I have a customer that has sent me more texts made more phone calls than all my family and friends and customers put together, I told her it would be 4 weekly and she begged me fortnightly, she is mental, wants the insides done as well every two weeks, after a week the texts start, when you coming afternoon or morning, what day, I am not in that day can you make it such and such a day, it just goes on and on.

Now I know the answer is just dump

but I have two perfectly normal customers on the same cul-de-sac that pay well and never bother me

she pays well enough, and loves the way I clean, I JUST CAN NOT STAND THE CONSTANT CONTACT ???

it wouldn't bother me dumping the lot of them for the peace, don't want to though

so I need to man up and tell her how my business works :'( don't like doing that much prefer the dump and ignore ;D

Just hump her, but make it very very quick, she will soon loose interest after 2 year's of this.

rather do the daughter than that, she would probably charge me for putting her back out as apparently that is fecked as well, and she keeps telling me she is blind but drives a car

anyway either way I need to do one more clean as she paid upfront, I tried counting the messages the other day and lost count at about a million

I've a customer who's retired and is a self confessed incredibly fussy person. He thoroughly checks every window and frame/sill after I've done it. I think he's one step away from OCD.

Thing is, it's a really well paying job as every other window cleaner he's had has only ever done his windows once and he knows why and openly says so..... again and again..... and again and again......

The bloke is a really nice genuine person but even when he makes me a cup of tea he frets about whether it's too strong, too weak, too much milk or too little or too hot or not hot enough and if the mug is ok. I dare not say no to a cuppa because then he fret as to why I have said no. Even the phone call the night before is fraught with complications. Is it better if I come at 9am or 9.30am because he wants to do this that or the other or maybe 10am is better and so on.

It's an easy £15 job and he pays £30 which was his price and not mine. At Christmas I got a whopping great Xmas box and 24 cans of Stella.

Going back to Stuart's posting, this last time when this bloke was due, I decided to text him instead of phoning as the phone call takes ages. After about maybe 20 text messages back and forth over 2 days, I gave up and phoned him anyway and then he was worried he'd sent too many text messages and was he hassling me and so on and so forth.

He drives me nuts but he's such a nice bloke. Maybe I'm to soft.

Just chant..... Hare Krsna, Hare Krsna, Krsna Krsna, Hare Hare, Hare Rama, Hare Rama, Rama Rama, Hare Hare. It's beats chanting Tory Tory or Labour Labour.

Confront the customer and give them want they want a good internal and external service from your company.
You must of spoiled her with your excellents work you provide her of the cleaning of her windows. ;D ;D

As they say the customer is alright in some cases and more not in others. ;D ;D

Jeez, moaning cos a customer wants cleans more often than you agreed? Whatever next....... :)
Each time you clean, give her the next date there and then....saying that saves you having to text/call me so much. Also you don't have to answer the phone....she'll learn

Triple the price!

haha thats all i was thinking while reading this one...

its win-win, either get paid more as compensation for the hassle - or drop the custy on their terms!

Have you ever thought that this could have nothing to do with window cleaning?????

Sounds to me like the poor woman is in love with you.

Have you done anything to encourage her??

I don't know; men like you, leading these poor women on just to get the custom!!!!

This would not happen with me because I would of said something a long time ago like " I don't clean fortnightly or insides(unless its a big job with easy windows).I turn up roughly every month but I can't book a date in because of the nature of window cleaning.(bad weather etc).

Stops sh*t like this happening from day one!
price higher/work harder!

Helen I have no problems with anyone that wants more frequent, I have customers I cleaned exactly 26 time last year every second thursday without fail, rain, sleet, snow or ice, this is also the day she is meant to get hers done, but she makes excuses up when the weather is bad ect and I am not doing it on the friday or any other day either, if it is missed for an excuse that is it missed, won't stop the constant calls and texts that I do ignore.

very good point - you could end up stuffed and stored in her loft, along with all the others.
