Anyone else got one? Mine has gone mental since I updated the software a few weeks ago, keeps turning off and losing signal and wont let me make calls or text for hours at a time....
Oh and at the end of last week it decided I didnt need any of my contacts anymore and deleted the lot lol...
So if I have ignored anyone I can only say sorry and will get back to the phone shop when I have the time....

I changed mine a few weeks ago for a Samsung S2 which I cannot recommend highly enough.
There was a software update for my HTC Desire HD in December (?) and ever since then, there were loads of niggly little things that kept cropping up.
One was icons on the screen would stop working for no apparent reason but if I used the same from the screen which had all the programs on it, it would work. They changed the 'contacts' somehow and adding new phone numbers was a nightmare and sometimes the added number wouldn't phone the number. Text messages vanishing. Texts appearing days late. Camera would work/not work/work/not work and same for the Gallery. Phone kept crashing and a whole pile of other stuff.
I think someone somewhere at HTC made a big big boo boo. I won't ever buy that make again.

I think its a phone issue and not network as mrs on same network with a blackberry and never had a problem...

but each phone has different software, with differences per network. don't know if applies to smart phones, but before these people would often get phoneS debranded, back to original spec, without the operators stuff attached, as they can then run as supposed to.
have often heard of phone problems being worse on specific networks...... are either of you with 3? I'd put my money on no..... let's see if I'm wrong, lol

Its amazing how much trust we put in mobile phones, i have had them for nearly 20 years and never had a problem like this but hits you hard when they do go wrong...

Its when i back up the phone that i worry, the first time i synchronised with windows contacts and calendar i lost everything, fortunately i had it all backed up from the previous phone. So everytime i back up i hold my breath....as you say they are an indespensable part of our lives now.
Mine is running:
Android version 2.3.5
htc sense version 3.0
sofrware number 3.13.771.2
Last couple of updates have ironed out some of the anoying little bugs, and some nice little touches to the displays. But maybe ive got lucky not had any problems (yet!)

My HTC Android just gets worse with age. Contract runs out next moth and whatever I buy next will not be an HTC. 2 years of aggro and poor customer service in that despite 6 replacement phones we couldn't get a decent phone with reliable audio quality to hold a conversation on. Latest software update causes it to freeze when texting, occasionally restart for no adequately explained reason and my local weather app, which was actually pretty good, has now stopped working altogether. Unimpressed!
