Just got this off veolia water website regarding the hose pipe ban, it's at the bottom of page 11

Water fed poles are frequently used by window cleaners and are within the definition of ‘anything designed, adapted or used to serve the same purpose as a hosepipe’. These systems use de-ionised water. Where mains water is the source used to create this de- ionised water, this activity is restricted.

But i suppose they might mean using the customers mains?

Interestingly enough when jeremy vine on radio 2 today spoke about the hose pipe bans he asked someone if window cleaners would be affected , she said it all depends on the water board as each is different however it shouldn't do ....

Says it excludes activities for health and safety grounds.

Translated means it is OK to clean upstairs windows wfp but maybe not ground floor window that can be accessed without a ladder.
