What do you use to clean leather . ive been looking at the leather cleaning kit available from extracta and i currently use chem spec leather cleaner/conditioner.

JUST SMOOTH PIGMENTED LEATHER.

Pigment coated leather generally has an imprinted grain pattern so would need to be deep cleaned with a foam leather cleaner - this gives the benefit of dwell time and the dirt can be easily lifted from the leather as it is held in the foam.
This type of leather does not benefit from 'conditioning' as it has a surface coating that prevents the products from actually reaching the leather.  Keeping it clean is crucial and the best way is to use a protector (rather than a conditioner) that will help with this process.
Conditioners that contain oils and waxes can actually do more harm than good on this type of leather as they sit on the surface and attract more dirt.

Restore from restormate is an excellent leather cleaner on general pigmented leather, i use it in a foaming bottle with a sponge or soft brush for ingrained dirt.

It foams up well does as good a job as any of the other propriotry leather cleaners i have used and is a lot more economical in use as dilution is between 10-20 to 1 and most the others are used neat and cost a lot more.

I HAVE A BIG SAMPLE PILE FOR TESTING LEATHER CONSTRUCTION DYES ETC AND HAVE FOUND THAT CHEMSPEC STUFF DOES PULL DYE OUT OF THE LEATHER QUITE A BIT

I can vouch for Judy's LTT products.

They are excellent and there is a wide range of products. Judy is also a great help and support on the phone, on here and on Facebook if you ever get stuck. There are quite possibly cheaper alternatives out there and we all know this but having done the LTT 1 day course and having used the LTT products for 3 years now, I know that what I use works and the investment in the LTT products is a good investment.

Tough one that Hector, trouble is Paul is doing the course at his for no financial gain I'd guess he gets a say in that also to my knowledge there aren't any other suppliers going as it's a training event not a road show but I'm not involved so it's nowt to do with me!

Judy asked Derek and Derek  asked her to  speak to me  if LTT wanted to attend in  May as we are inviting a small number of suppliers. To  date LTT have not tried to contact me.

Derek said that he would send an email to all TACCA suppliers with details and asking who was interested - have not received this yet but would be happy to attend. 
I will just have returned from the International Leather Repair Symposium in the USA so should have some interesting information to share.
