Training Dvds
« on: February 26, 2012, 10:57:21 pm »
I was just wondering,as i do,have any of ye ever used/watched carpet/upholstery/rug/spot & stain training Dvds and have you found them any good.I know nothing compares to the real thing but unfortunetly i have 2 problems with that,1,i live across the pond and there seems to be no one interested in running these courses and 2,i fell off a ladder, smashed my leg and am unable to travel for the foreseeable future, well 6 months anyway.
Your feed back would be appreciated.

Desi

Would you be better off watching some sort of physio dvd on how to strengthen and excercise your leg instead? Why would you need to watch cleaning dvd's - it looks like you already run a cleaning business?

Anyway, there is tons of stuff on Youtube. Its more accessible and cheaper than buying dvd's!

Cheers

I would imagine that a comprehensive training DVD would be a good substitute for a course, given that most courses contain very little or no practical element whatsoever.

Always fancied Rob Allen's Ride-Along DVD after having seen some sample clips - very comprehensive, even if it is American.

Kev - good to see you back

Picked up Robs DVD for £30 on special last year, very slick and a must for a new starter looking at mid to high end customers. Reminded me of a few bad habits I've picked up over the years. :-[

Last I checked Rob had issues sending them here. I'm keen to get his dvd.

$99 plus shipping.

Warren can only play on a PC unless you own a multi region DVD player.

i've got rob allens dvd. happy to sell on if anyone wants it as once you've watched it once it's done with. tbh i found it only ok though. i found it good to confirm how to sell the service and make yourself look pro, but for training it was poor imo. was £100 brand new if i remember correctly so not too bad and gave me an added confidence that what i was doing was correct

Ash i totally agree... the Prochem course allows you to sit on your arse and watch a guy clean a rug which has already been clean a million times... most of these kind of courses are aimed at teaching you about how to select and use their products.

I would imagine an on-line library would be the way to go... streaming only to avoid piracy etc...
Might be a good thing for some of the seasoned pro's to have a think about...?
