FAULTY FLOJET PUMP. SHOULD IT BE COVERD UNDER WARRANTY? New
« on: January 01, 2006, 07:51:14 pm »
Dealt a body blow with my new wfp system.

Still very unsettled and nervous after spending my money on it, I am not impressed with the quality of finnish I have got so far in practiceing.

To top it all, had my new system fitted by facelift 2 weeks ago, they have fitted 2 60psi flojet pumps. On saturday switched one pump on with my 1/2" hose to practice wfp cleaning, that was fine.

Then realed out my microbore hose, switched my other pump on and Horror of Horrors water was spraying out between the pressure switch and the main water pump itself. I tryed to tighten the pressure switch up on one side were it as dropped with a posi screwdriver. but to no avail.

Is this a common problem?

I have just read my information booklet that came with the system. The company say water pumps are excluded from the Warranty. Do you think I should pursue the company for them to change it? Or is it tough luck on my part?

Regards Nel.

All Flojet pumps come with 12 mths, any problem, warranty so there should be no problem. However you have to send it back for    inspection/repair/replacement Which can take 7 days.
I deal direct with http://dualpumps.co.uk (look at diaphragm pumps) and recommend them.
Meantime order another from your supplier or them to keep you going.which you can then keep as a spare.
Sounds like you had a duff one to start with which should have been checked by them before you signed for it.
Re finnish keep at it.Check your tds is 0000

Hi Neil,

If it is a Flojet pump then it will be covered by flojets own very good warranty.

What it sounds like to me is that your pump has been supplied with an incorrect diaphragm. It should be supplied with a EPDM diaphragm suitable for water, but it sounds like it has been supplied with a Viton diaphragm which is not suitable for water as it is designed for pumping Acid, hence it is quite brittle, which is good for acid, but not for water. Water will usually puncture this in about 1-2 weeks use.

The solution is for either your supplier (facelift) or yourself to return it to the suppliers of flojet for a free replacement or they can send you a free replacement diaphragm and you could replace it yourself ( a little tricky). Of course if it isn't the diaphragm they will be able to sort it anyway. The people that supply them are Dual pump they are on 01664 567226

Hope that this helps
