Hi everyone
Following conversations with a few members recently, we’re thinking it would be a great idea if we organised a get together for members of the forum, moderators and us behind the scenes to meet up, chat and maybe share a beer or two.
Specifically, we’ve been talking about organising a meet up in the Autumn, maybe September or October, somewhere central (ie Midlands) which would make it easy for most people to get to. Having realised that most of you would drive to the venue in your vans, we thought it may be a fun idea to have some kind of ‘Vanfest’!
It would be open to all members of Clean It Up together with friends and / or colleagues. You can come along in your Van or otherwise, still very welcome.
We spend our lives working away, and maybe posting topics on Clean It Up, and reading the replies, chatting sometimes, but rarely do we actually meet in person. It is always better to meet people face to face and perhaps meet the member who has given you lots of advice this year, or passed on a business lead. And some of you who have been disagreeing with each other on Clean It Up, well when you meet you can smile and shake each others’ hands. It is different in real life (and if we’ve not cracked the forum speed issues once and for all by then, or put in place all your other suggestions, you can complain to me in person!)
Many of you have vans with all sorts of standard and custom equipment installed – whether its window cleaning, carpet cleaning, gum removal, bin washing or whatever, I am sure there must be lots for others to see and learn about. And I know some members vans have amazing graphic wraps which would be fun to show off. Maybe we could offer a prize for smartest van, or something – suggestions?
If the idea takes off, it may be something we would look to do annually. Of course we could change the venue from year to year to try and give more people a chance to come along.
So at this stage we would welcome your thoughts, ideas and feedback. I know some of the carpet cleaners from the forum have got together in the past but we’ve had nothing that welcomes everyone from all sections.
So, would you come to a meet up like this? Can you suggest a suitable venue? What else could we add to it to make it more fun and maybe useful too?
Once we get your feedback, my colleagues John and Mitch, will start to get things moving.
