Hi guys got 300 sq M2 of vinyl floor tiles to strip seal and polish just wondered what i should be charging per sq M2 for this . Also its all in one area and no obstacles to go around also water is very accessable Cheers craig

Why do you need to strip it?

Is the finish contaminated or discoloured?

If possible I would scrub with a hot neutral cleaner with a stripping pad such as a 3M SPP. It will cut back a couple of coats on the surface then all you need is a coat of finish, buff with a high speed and then put the top coat.

I would always try and avoid stripping whenever possible if the conditions allow.

Could you use 3M SPP pads on Amtico etc?

Yes. Put another floor pad on top of them. Something soft like a white or red just to create a bot of a shock absorber.

They work really well.

I have not used the 3m spp pads for stripping are they better than stripper and conventional black pads, are they quicker and how long do they last.
We do a reasonable amount of strip and sealing of filthy, never maintained shop floors so any improvement on traditional methods would be great.

They work well dry to take off top coats when recoating.

Really move things along in conjunction with stripper and great for smoothing our marmoleum after using Hi Pro pads.

I dont fully subscribe to the water only thing unless its only a a fe thin coats or domestic grade products.

We use them mostly on marmoleum where stripper will discolour.
