What do you use for pole hose protection?
« on: February 13, 2012, 08:56:00 pm »
Ok so let's get the innuendo comments Re the title out of the way first!
Got my 1st wfp today, an slx22. First thing I noticed was that the hose just comes straight out of the end of it. When I put down the pole it will squash the hose a bit, rub it on the ground etc. I thought the hose would come out of the side close to the bottom to stop any damage to the hose. So my question is; what do you use to protect the hose?
When I ordered it along with resineck and resineck with swivel, the girl on the phone asked me what hose etc I would be using and I said aquadapter hose along with an aquadapter. Next day I ordered the aquadapter and was told I needed 'type 2' resinecks for the aquadapter. I thought I should be getting them as I'd said what I would be using them with to gardiners (I should of got back to gardiners but thought I wouldn't need to) Today type 1s arrived! Bit disappointed that gardiners aren't aware of other products and compatibility as this would be a great help to starters like me who know nothing about wfp. I'll have to send them back and swop them which is fine but will put my starting wfp off till next week now. Shame as I can't wait to try it. I understand from this forum that gardiners are very good at resolving problems etc.

i thought that too with the pipe coming out the bottom..........but 2 years on and the pole and original pipe still OK!

I try to not put too much pressure on the pole when its resting on the ground, but forget, its squashed and scuffed but not split or damaged.

I did tell them I was a newbie, said my head was all over the place with all the stuff I needed to do, get and sort. Maybe the girl on the phone was a newbie too. I'm sure it'll be sorted soon, just eager to try the wfp.

I wouldn't worry too much about the hose coming out of the bottom of pole, but if it does bug you 'pure freedom' do a base cap where the hose does come out of the side.Just check for correct size.

This should help you
Thanks for that, looks just what I need.
Thanks also to jarvynopic  ;D
If you are planning on using an aqua-dapter you will find it operates a lot easier with the hose coming straight out the bottom of the pole, and the pole hose supplied by them is quite firm anyway and won't get 'squashed'

To be honest I bet 99% of us have pole hose straight out of the bottom. I bet they have tonnes of them left, pointless product im out.
