A couple of companies on this forum do not apparently openly advertise on here, but yet get lots of glowing recommendations from " satisfied customers " !

The best form of gaining business is through word of mouth, better than outright advertising . . . . so my question is, are some companies on here paying for advertising but not openly ?

If true it is very underhand, and would advise users on here to be aware !

That's happened plenty of times in the past, but they're generally caught out pretty quickly.

If you're talking about Gardiners; they don't advertise on the forum, but those of us who've used their poles think they're good (though I think they're expensive  ).

We've only got one mod who runs a busy business and I doubt Mike (site owner) checks many posts these days; so they probably get away with it due to the lack of effective 'policing'.

Hit the 'bleat to mod' button if it annoys you.  It's your forum too; you're a member.

Where does the forum claim to be unbiased?  If you wish to advertise here, it's forum rules that you pay.

It is free to be a member though, I've never had to pay to be here.
