rad on all night, other half goes to work 5:30am unpluggs rad to use the toaster and doesn`t plug back in. got up 8am and checked back of van. hoses pump and fogwash all frozen. slowly defrosting now with rad just praying nothing is damaged
if its damaged she`s paying for it!!!

Same here, and I had a job booked in for 9.30 am start.  Got a fan heater in there now, engine running, heater on full blast.

I think there's a problem with my timer; or my extension cable!

Every evening during this cold spell I've taken 7 barrels and a full 30ltr trolley indoors.

I live 12 floors up and the car park is 200 yds away with 2 flights of steps in between.

Every morning I've taken it all back downstairs.

It takes about an hours to move it all.

Each night I've left a barrel in the van to see if it freezes. Each night it hasn't.

Last night I thought I'd leave everything in the van because it's knacking moving it all each evening and morning.

This morning I get down to the van and 8 ice cubes in barrels.

Do you unwind all the cable off the reel, if not then the electric current heats the cable up, which then trips the cutoff switch on the reel.

I got one of them digital timers from B&Q, they are defo more reliable.

I also use one of them electric heatguns for concentrated areas that have frozen, you know the ones we all used in the late 80's to burn paint off the banister to keep your lass happy
and then stain & varnish it & shes still not happy. Sorry digressing a bit....
But like Tosh says, Im just typing drivel.

Fan heater for me for an hour before I start in a morning though this week my earliest start has been 1130!!
Did have one day on first job where I had to ask custie for hot water to pour onto connecting hose but other that have had a decent week. 80% of a normal one. Soon be spring anyway!!!

you guys are definately die hards . its minus 3 here and i tried a window at home it froze up pretty quick so im not bothering to do anything till next week . i dont know how you do it with or without fogwash it still ust create black ice on the ground its dangerous surely

Look on the bright side - you've got an "other half" who goes to work at 5.30 on a Saturday morning - you guys must be doing something right!
