RO filter question
« on: February 07, 2012, 05:41:55 pm »
Hi all, last week in the freezing weather one of my RO filter vessels, the end bit (that screws on) cracked and fell off (i did have it all wrapped up).ive since glued it and it seems fine, no leaks or such like.but now i cant seem to be able to get any water to go through the system so my question is...are the membrane filters now knackered as they were probably frozen too. :'(. It always was pretty slow.thanks for any advice.Ian

I know this sound obvious but is this ro now defrosted ? if so sounds like its shagged, change the prefilters and work along to the more expensive parts either way you get new things fitted which will only help you anyway  ;)

yes, the filter will probably be damaged, as the ice crystal will be bigger than the membrane pours.

Thanks guys, thought they may be shagged. They have been defrosted and ive taken out the filters inside ect, also the pressure actually going into the filter is good, but i then take the small hose off at the other end of the filter vessel and it just drips out. Any ideas wheres the best place to buy these please.cheers ian
