Billy Goat

No, not billy goat gruff.  ;D

Billy Goat Leaf Vac. Has anyone converted one of these to use as a gutter vac?
Same type of way as an upkeeper but with a billy goat you would need to downsize the hose.

I'm presuming there would be a greater amount of suction. I'm sick of replacing motors and sorting out blockages in the bend. Upkeepers suck out branches and roots.

I did wonder how you guys are getting on with the vacuuming this type of yr  ???
We have done a few roofs since xmas vacuuming has been a nightmare with blockages as pieces of moss are frozen solid... no chance!

But yes cant see why you cant convert Billy goat - simple hose reduction, we use several for litter collection largest VQ - that particular mc has 5" hose bore with 4m length wand. However it is a 'large'  piece of kit, could possible substitute frame to trolley, But would still have to be a large 'footprint' to compensate the impellar movement. Suction on it would be more than adequate. The pain would be the bag, as it gets wet suction would decrease and you would need to clean it daily at least. (pressure wash or industrial washing mc)

With your 'std' vac is the internal hose bore smooth or helix ? Our vac works superb ... all the blockages are always in the 2" pipe !

Currently snowed off - hence office.

Same here pal, can't do nowt.

It's that crap silicone bend where it always blocks mate. Not done any gutters this year yet. We'll be busy with the residential blocks soon, 17 sites around Manchester to do and got the paving around the canal in Manchester(Piccadilly) but gutter jobs will spring up out of the blue so must always be prepared.
The issue with the bend is it's not a smooth flush wall inside where the tubing fits in so it tends to back up.

Was supposed to start that big roof today with the paint on but it's cancelled again. Last time was the wind.
I've got a lad lined up now too Mike for the roof coating. He's done it for awhile and has all the kit and van so I'm just gonna bang him on them at a good rate that he wants.
