Will my waste pipe freeze ?
« on: February 01, 2012, 07:54:52 pm »
now -1 in North Wales and need some pure for tomorrow so running the 4040 now ... the waste goes thru a normal hosepipe which runs thru garage and into drain so only about 2 foot of it is out in open .. just worried if it will freeze and therefore block ??

I would imagine if it became blocked with ice the 4040 would make a nasty bang ??

imagine there's more than a little trickle coming out,so at that temp should be fine.

I'd worry too tho, but unless mega cold and very slow flow shouldn't be a prob.

can't v produce enough before bed time? that's why I used to use booster pump......

it can freeze Matt, if it freezes from the pipe in wards, is the pipe insulated ?

Water also can freeze in your pole when it is cold enough as its happened a few times with a few people I know.

Ian once you turn it off tonight, disconnect the R.O. pipework and blow them through to blow out any excess water. Move the D.I. vessels to somewhere warm for the night an dif necessary the same for the RO or cover it up with a couple of towels.
