Just more ideas we are looking for.

It's one of the least things we enjoy cleaning, as some can be partically hard and time consuming .

The pretty trellis found on most conservatory roofs, when they are very dirty what's the best way to get these clean with out damaging them, as they can be loose on times..

If it wells we try to stay off the roof where possible??

We have done many in case perfect windows tries to throw a spanner in the works but I'm sure there are better ways than the way we clean

tfr or ecover sprayed on with a 5L PRESSURE SPRAYER,leave for 5 mins then gently scrub and rinse with a sill brush(medium bristle).they are a pain but this makes em slightly easier!!

And viro-sol is fantastic stuff! £20 for 10L
Of eBay spray it on and the muck just runs off!!

I mix it 12-1 and clean everything with it!

Car engines the lot great stuff

[Window Washers]

hand pump sprayer (b&q)
Harris pole 5m (b&q)
5mm tubing (b&q)
pressure washing liquid (b&q)


makes a 5m pressure sprayer 

spray on leave couple of mins (makes sure it does not dry)

agitate with wfp brush, and rinse with garden tap attached to pole, re connect to pure for final finsh

Job done.

one con roof clean will pay for all the gear need to clean them

Great info, i want to get some of this stuff, was going to get a hand pump sprayer back pack 10 litre jobby, will do for conservatory roofs, and also i want to clean my caravan roof off and guess this should work a treat.

actually they are called ridge crestings  phineals are the bit at the end of the cresting like a mini flag pole, for want of a better discription.

fanjets help when cleaning these. thats my 2pence.

Get a sill brush for the pointy bits, one part rests on the conservatory whilst the other cleans them.

Fan jets are better than pencils on connys and fascias

5L sprayer from B&Q and some virosol mixed 24:1

Depending on the weather leave it on for about 10 mins (less on sunny days)

Be generous with the virosol..... i use around 5L diluted on a small conny

You dont need a pole unless your going to be cleaning fascias

Pressure washer with adjustment,inline detergent and brushes on the end of your lance (you can buy  lances long enough without the need to use the fibreglass jobbies from northern tools ....)
The speed and finish is much better than wfp....

One thing that might be slowing your guys down is the order they are doing the work.  I spotted my guy doing this:

Clean one side of top decoration, then clean the glass on the top in front of it (i.e. doesn't move, just cleans glass below where he's done the top.)

Walks round to the other side, clean other side of top decoration, then cleans the glass in front of it, same as above.

Walks round to side one, realises it's covered in all the mess from doing the top on the other side and has to clean the glass again.

When questioned, he didn't seem to find anythig strange about it.


As for chemicals, I use Fairy - spread it about and leave it five mins and it's a doozy.  You don't have to worry about not letting it dry out either, as with TFR.
