I've had my froststat heater on for weeks I'm taking no chances, plus some of the solutions/products don't take too kindly to being subjected to just above freezing temperatures.

especially tonight. Dont put setting on frost protection as I'v had stuff freeze up at the back of the van.
I always put fan heater on 2 setting to make sure ambient temperature circulates around the van.
A fan heater only checks it's thermostat temp.....not where it could be -2 near the backdoor.

Nothing worse than getting on a job to find out trigger valves are  minced.

I once went away for xmas some years ago, put all my kit in the house except for the hoses.
-12 had punched a hole in one of the steel braided solution hoses ::)

Perhaps I should add that 2 double quilts go over the top of machinery and other bits crates a smaller void to be heated, with the heater outside the 'tented area' but blowing into it (igloo like). If we get to the stage where it gets colder then a tarpaulin goes over the top of the van at night to further insulate it.
For the sake of  £1 or two in electricity you can save a lot of expense and lost time.

all equipment comes in for me and then i just have small bottles so anything lost to frost isn't too much of an issue. easier then setting up the heating imo, though a pain in the morning when it's cold and you've got to put everything back in the van.
