An not being Funny but your in the tacca? and i thought you had to be trained to join?

What the hell has training got to do with asking a perfectly reasonable question about Prochem in tank detergents and their purpose?

The only in tank product Prochem talked about on the CC courses was fibre fabric rinse. I found it difficult to understand why you would pre spray the carpet using a detergent with a PH of lets say 9 and then rinse the carpet using a detergent in the tank with the same PH level?
When you wash your hair you use plain water to remove the shampoo...

There are a lot of people who don't use a pre-spray and just clean using the wand and tank detergent.

Last week I ran out of power burst on a job so on next job (to far to travel back home for some more) I used Double Clean as a prespray. I found it ok and must say excellent on the draft marks. I used it at the same mixing as I would with the Power Burst.

In the 90's this was the way that most people were taught, double clean in the tank or crytal green, water as hot as you could get it, swirl round with a wooden spoon to make sure that it all mixed in, and then just go for it...........

Right... so this method is used mainly by people who choose not to pre spray or use push along machines?
Pre spraying & agitation seems to be the most effective method for most people and surely has got to be the most efficient method rather than simply squirting and sucking?  :o

I do that now and then extract with a pad, whereas most on here extract with HWE

Wonder what the carpet cleaning masters (manufacturers/Training schools) will be telling us in another 20 years

I went on a rush job yesterday, pre sprayed through my wand f90 in tank detergent. brush in 5 min dwell
Great result (got me thinking) Saved me about 20 mins in time. Extracted with the f90that was still in tank.

the problem is most carpet cleaners get their knowledge from companies trying to sell them stuff or from other carpet cleaners who are as inexperienced and are just repeating what they have read or heard..... like the 'hair shampoo, rinsing' analogy its total bollox but is regurgitated every time detergents are mentioned (just like the dirt will turn to mud if you don't vacuum)

we should all be students of the science of cleaning  read every thing we can find from impartial sources, it sounds sad but I look at the ingredients of cleaning products and any chemical I don't know I search on google...... don't just use F90 but look at the ingredients and search them on google. find out how and why they work

most training courses don't teach why we use a product or how it works...... only which product to use

and if taught correctly all one really needs to know to be successful is which to use. you can think of yourself as a better cleaner then others who don't know but in reality both will be able to do a great job if taught correctly.

i'd never care if my painter knew every single product in the paint, just as long as he was using the correct gloss for my walls etc

id say we could knock some of these products together with a trip to Tesco and a bit of knowledge ...

formula 90 looks to be a mild detergent ...  ( 20% surfactant ... + bit of water softener , bit or orange oil )   and 20%  washing soda to make it alkaline ...

you could rince with milder detergent + lemon juice  for your acid rince  .... or just acidic water

DIY   :D

Adam would you mind if you went to the doctor with a headache and he give you headache pills, then you drop down dead with a brain tumour or the headache pills react with the  indigestion tablets you take and causes stomach ulcers?

also you were asking why your pump won't work....... so you want to know how a pump works but not how your chemicals work ;)
