psi dropped (urgent)
« on: December 21, 2005, 06:01:40 pm »
hi all ive got an ro 200 and was experiencing dificultys in purifying enough water, so i purchased a pump which increased my psi output too 75. I am  lately experiencing problems again and my psi has dropped down to around 20, could it be my filters need replacing as ive only had them about 3 months.
I know in this weather that water gets denser and is slower too purify but surely i must be getting a higher reading than i am getting ?, can anyone help me out ?.
many thanks

Just a thought have you turned the backflush tap? I say this
as this is about the pessure I get when backflushing, as I say
just a thought,  filters should be fine @ 3 months old

I only get psi 45 out of my tap but this is enough to make at least 600 litres of pure water from my RO 200 Gallons per day (although I don't use that much; only around 125 - 200 litres per day).

As Steve says, ensure your membrane flush tap is in the correct position otherwise most of your water is going through the green (waste) hose.

Hi tosh1 how do you get away with using 125-200 litres aday, Ive got an omnitrolley and use about 100 litres an hour.  I have a switch on the top that controls the flow but have that fully open on my omnitrolley as because when i turn it down, no water seems too come out.
today i took the casing off  the filters and emptied the water in them, i noticed in the last one it had some stuff floating about in it .
now getting readings of around 50.
