Places for people is seeking expressions of interest from suitably
resourced, qualified and experienced contractors in order to implement a
communal area cleaning contract in the South West region.
Places for people is a registered provider of social housing. The
Contracting Authority is one of the largest property management,
development and regeneration companies in the UK.
The Contract duration is 3 years with a potential extension of a further
one year. It is anticipated that any new or acquired properties will be
incorporated into the contract.
Potential candidates shall note that TUPE may or may not apply to this
procurement. In the event that the contracting authority is able to
provide TUPE information it will do so acting merely as a conduit of the
information and it will not warrant, represent or guarantee the accuracy
of any TUPE information provided. As such potential candidates will be
expected to take their own advice as to the application of TUPE to this
procurement.

II.2.1) Total quantity or scope:
Places for people is a registered provider of social housing. The
Contracting Authority is one of the largest property management,
development and regeneration companies in the UK, with a stock portfolio
of over 60 000 properties covering a large geographic area from Edinburgh
to the Isle of Wight.
Places for people currently provide communal area cleaning services to
approximately 508 general rented properties across Bristol. We envisage
phase 1 of implementation would encompass all 508 properties, starting in
year 1.
Phase 2 may encompass up to an additional 204 properties which do not
currently have communal area cleaning services provided. We envisage this
may be implemented for year 2 of the contract following successful
customer consultations.
The length of agreement will be 3 years with an option to extend for a
further one year. It is anticipated that any new or acquired properties
will be incorporated into the contract.
Indicative spend is a range from 287 000 GBP to 375 000 GBP.
The contractor will be required to provide a customer focused service and
show a commitment to working with places for people to provide effective
services that deliver value for money in the short and long term.
