stone floor in pub
« on: January 20, 2012, 03:40:28 pm »
I have been asked to clean a stone floor in front of a bar at a pub, we are doing the builders clean on sunday, the floor is about 80 years old stone, uneven with footflow wear and tear, I have at my disposal a scrubber dryer and a duo speed rotary machine, the landlord says he does not expect miracles but would like it a bit brighter.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Mike

Pre wet the floor and then apply a high alkaline cleaner we use Aqua Mix Heavy Duty Tile & Grout Cleaner but most High Alkalines around ph14 will do.  Allow it to dwell then scrub with a soft to medium brush this should clean any grout joints as well then Vac up with wet vac and rinse and vac again.  If that fails I would repeat but use some Aqua Seal 220 Grit Hone Powder and that will deffo sort it combined with the High Alkaline.  Do not forget to pre wet or the High Alkaline will disappear into the stone and do nothing.  Good Luck

Ricky

Aqua Mix pulled out of the UK and Europe mate.  The products have been replaced as they run out by All For Stone AFS Aqua Seal Products.  Essentially exactly the same as Aqua Mix and in a lot of cases improved.
