Can I spend a day learning / helping?
« on: December 19, 2005, 04:16:58 pm »
Hi Ladies / Gents

I am new to window cleaning but am considering starting up on my own in the new year, due to impending redundancy.

I plan to attend some courses but would very much welcome the opportunity to spend a day or so with someone willing to pass on some of their experience, particularly with WFP.

I'm located in Kettering, Northamptonshire but would be willing to travel to the surrounding counties e.g. Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Cambridgeshire, Hertfordshire and Leicestershire.

I'm not shy of early starts and will even buy the bacon rolls!

I will gladly provide a days work in return.

Any offers would be very much appreciated.

Thanks

Steve
 :)

Hi Steve,

I would like to help out, but I'm located near Farnham in Surrey.

I do however have a guide to starting up in the window cleaning trade... I'll find it and email it to you ASAP.

Hi Steve

I am just starting up myself so wont be able to give you any advise myself but keep posting asking for a days labour in exchange for some help and advise.
I had to post a few times before i got a got wc guru to take me under their wings and to date have had help from 2 different w/c's.

Best of luck mate and feel free to drop me an email as we might find it helpful to have someone in the same position.

Steve/Southern Cleaning Services - Can one of you kindly send me SCS guide for starting up please?

My address is adiegargan@hotmail.com

Brett, this lad lived just round the corner from the police station...I am certain you would know him and his family...a crime wave in one house :o

He must be 20 or so now and I would be very surprised if he wasn`t inside. He had a good few little brothers/sisters though who would be taking over the manor now I imagine.

I can`t give names but that estate by the police station is not that big is it?

I had to take him to court in Nottigham once and I ended up staying the night in a pub on the corner opposite the magistrates court. It doubled as a hotel/B+B and was the pits of all pits.
The next day, the lad was let off what should have been at least 4 years inside and as we left court to travel back to his digs in Stoke, he spotted about 20 of his mates all waiting outside the court trebling the profits of Strongbow and he decided todo a runner with them. What could I do?
Reported him as absconded and retired to the same pub for a great Guinness. Funny enough, it was about that time I started noticing filthy windows. ;D

Great Stuff!  Good to know this c.o.c.k.n.e.y boy didn't upset your customers.

When do I get my certificate from the "Gaza school of WFP?"

Make sure you keep up to my standards when you go back for the second cleans!!!!!! ;D

Things are progressing this end.

Had an IBC delivered last week - my neighbour on my left is panicking about floods and noisey water pumps!!!  My neighbour on my right wants all her windows cleaning ASAP.  Chalk & Cheese!  I wouldn't mind but the one on the left has a son who is an ex WC! ???

Still a lot to sort out yet.

Steve
