do million plus houses only warrant £20 per window clean in your area?

If so , glad I live in the south :)

Helen the other house wasn't as large this house was on a private road with development of 3 big houses, the other house was on corner of the private road. Tbh I should've gone in a little bit more think i think it had 28 sash windows but 16 were on front with nice access.

I didn't ask Jon Walters if he was jack Rodwell I asked the customer I'd just signed up as I was goin back to my van, he had kids etc so thought must be older than jack Rodwell.

I was just a bit surprised you usually hear so n so lives in the village

You need to move to the South Richy, mind you £20 quid for 28 sash windows you'd be taking all the business round here....... :)
Monthly  - minimum   £50
Bi monthly - minimum £65
Tri monthly - Minimum £80
and that was our prices 2 years ago before we sold them :)

ive worked up north before , The north is cheaper but the main thing is you have no management what so ever that means no locked gates no texts little cancelation the customers never cares about a thing honestly i remember once i was cleaning windows at 7.30pm in the summer on a saturday and started at the crack of dawn in the winter to make the most of the day light im talking 7am on domestic! if i dared do this on a week day down here that'll be all she wrote ;D

really easy to run a round there compared to here, down here we make more per house/hour but normally they need texts (which opens a range of problems), let us know blah blah blah, and less regular too.and it takes longer to establish a round then up there too.because the customers are so relaxed you can employ any decent person up north just give him a list they wont even ask his name they will not care. If i employed on my round down here without maybe going first time with him or letting them know they will not like it.

up north its pretty much always monthly so a £40 house here done 2 monthly up north is about £25 monthly , so you are able to make more per hour down here but the house is less regular and takes alot of canvassing to fill days/filter out messers then dont forget those days when they cant unlock the gate or be home u get alot of those down here. for example today i was ment to be finishing my day with a nice large £65 job but look at the time 3pm im home well early reason she cant be home to let me in the gates and doesnt give the code out :o, can you come tomorrow at 1pm.........   .  .   ? ......sorry im back in this post code next time round in 2 months i say ok great see you then she says! (she is a 4 monthly) so it will be 6 months since i last cleaned it,up north id say its a £28 job 13x a year £364 + xmas tip all day long, no texts or phone calls ull be given the silly code just turn up and clean.

up north day rates may not be as high but are close communitys no one wants to be known as the dirty window house. everyone is pleased to see you every month and if you are cleaning in a street people always come out asking stick me on the round etc.

to be honest both areas have the good sides and bad up north relaxed mentality no hassle really makes your days less stressfull , down here i find you can charge more but also be prepaid for a different kind of hassle which can be overcome just takes time and alot of dedication but yes day rates can be higher.

i wouldnt say coming down south is better at all.your efforts where ever you are will pay off.

rich ive read alot of your posts just keep things simple thats what the north is all about , you do eveything right you stand out from the average window cleaning company let alone your local competition stay professional ! keep up the good work :)

p.s that large house would normally be removed but i havnt cos its in an area where work is lacking!

crystal clear where is this place up north? it sounds like your'e describing coronation street? I work in south manchester and theres certainly a few gates/infrequent/non tippers etc round here.  are you not just describing the difference between a rich and a poor area?

Since when has Stoke been 'up north'?

Its Midlands at best!  ::)

28 sash windows for £20 is madness anywhere £45 min plus 'rich tax'.

You want to google what Stoke pay their players, I think you would be suprised!

haha it was the north east mate ,yes some areas not as classy but still people just so relaxed!

im sure you can still get what i get down here well manchester is a large city like london so it could be quite similar,

but it is a common thing northeners are more relaxed then southeners in general i found you guys actually care about people when its winter and your hands are freezing off the last thing you would do is sack someone being to regular :)

in general ofc!

No the footy players house was executive it's a village with all sorts of different type houses this was fair size but nothing I'd expect 2 lads not to be able to clean in 20-25 mins
