Got a letter from head office of large pizza business this morning.
Can we include hourly rate on all future invoices.
What would you do? dont like to put this information forward to
anyone.
They are refusing to process any invoices without this.
This is a large building takes two men + van + equipment.
Telling how long it takes and hows this is done is not what
i think should be on the invoice
Will they process the invoices that you have already submitted?
I'm not so sure I would want to continue with such a job - though it does sound like it would be a large one to give up on. I suppose it depends why they want the info really. If it's just to be able to complete a database form that's one thing. However, if people are going to be spying on you with stopwatches, that's quite another.
If I were to give out this info to them (and I have reservations as to whether I would), I think that there would need to be supporting paperwork stating that the time taken is variable (varying conditions such as wind etc., number of staff used) but that no more money would be charged if it took longer (implying that they won't get a reduction if it takes less time).
When all is said and done, the hourly rate is none of their business IMO.
