My son has a 52 plate 800 LX Partner with the older 2.0 hdi engine. He has a 500 litre tank, 2 poles, a hose reel with 100m of mini bore and a fold up ladder and his van isn't overweight with him and a full tank of diesel. It's only if I get in that he could be in trouble.

Spruce, do the poles fit in this vehicle ok? does it have a roof rack? many thanks
He has a lower solid steel half height headboard with a steel mesh upper. I cut a section out of the side of the bulkead and he runs his poles through that and down the side of the passenger seat and passenger front door. I screwed a piece of plastic guttering onto the top of the wheel arch boxing to stop the pole moving about when he used to use the Teleplus ali pole. Now he just slides his SLX in backwards and wedges the brush at an angle to secure it.
The problem occassionally is that its very difficult for a passenger to get into the seat with the pole in place, but a plan can be made for the odd occasion.
You could quite easily make a plan by securing a plastic drain pipe to the roof supports and run the pole down the centre of the van into the cabin in the middle. The newer vans after 2003 came with a storage shelf above the driver and passenger, utilising that space above the driver and passenger's head. The pole handle will go nicely into that.
