Hi Paul,

So do i just wash it externally with soapy water? As previously mentioned it looks brand new still, i do really have to pull on the hose at least a half a dozens times when it sticks to get it to move and most of the time i have to turn it by hand. It does seem that the tap itself is very stiff inside rather than being junked up with dirt as it had been doing from day one but has been getting increasing more stubborn the more i use it.

This does happen when either using hot or cold water...

Hi Scott,

We recommend washing with washing up liquid and fast flowing warm water to thoroughly rinse it out, as the grime can build up quite quick, but it does sound strange if it has been happening from the start (and we made a slight mod a while ago to further help prevent this).

It could alternatively be an over-tightening of the clamp, which can squeeze the ESA, deform the body and restrict movement of the carriage.  I'll call you later in the week to sort out.

Paul i did not want  a good will offer just my money back.
of course i cashed cheque, that left me only £60 short not £120,
i had lost all faith in product, you should not have sold me a product that "YOU KNEW" had problems.dont forget this went on for ages chose to cut my losses, little did i know that i would come across you here,     good though.
why did you only offer me HALF MY MONEY back.as i said before they do not fit on ionic poles very easily,    on     off      on      off     needed another fitting for pole from u, then they where faulty it goes on and on . maybe, if you had done the gentlemanly thing and PHONED ME ,
as  requested                                                                                                                         SO AGAIN i ask you, can i please have my money back.

im very happy with my aqua-daptors(two marks IIs).the occasional little niggle here and there with spring snapping but easily rectified with excellent customer service.

pristine windows ok your not keen on the aqua-daptor but the way you are talking is bang out of order IMO.you should be ashamed of yourself.

IMO paul and aqua-daptor have made a product that was much needed for wfp operators to make our working day easier and more efficient.

its true you cant please everyone all of the time.i suppose its like marmite!!you either love it or hate it!!! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

If I buy something that has a problem then I expect my money back, as, if a custy is not happy with my work I would clean again, or give them a FULL refund, why wouldnt I, If  Paul had done this, instead of hiding behind emails and excuses I would still more than likely be a custy of his .

they both failed.
KS  I give 7 days to my customers for ANY complaint, I also give a 7 day rain guarantee.
Never had a call back yet re rain, and only a couple on streaks, one on spots, back to sort it within 2 days, not bad eh in 3yrs.

You paid £120 at the show (for products that, at the time, was retailing for £139.96 + carriage).  You said that the 1st return cost £7.00, the 2nd £9.05.  We sent you a cheque for over half of what you paid £86.05 (£70 + return costs).

This is what I don't understand.  You went from being "really impressed" to having "lost all faith in the product" even though we explained exactly why the problem had occurred and that it only affected that batch?

It wasn't a design fault but a bad batch of plastics from a supplier that didn't become apparent until the product was used for a few days.

you should not have sold me a product that "YOU KNEW" had problems.
We did NOT know that there were problems until quite some time after the show, at which point we emailed everyone and posted it publicly, we haven't tried to hide anything.  There is no way that we would allow a faulty product to be knowingly sold.

We offered you over half your money back, as a gesture of goodwill, as you had contacted us several weeks after the money back guarantee had expired, then sent back the units a week after that.  You refused/returned the replacements that were sent, so we weren't under obligation to offer anything, but we did anyway.

Used for a few days , what are you on about you know that the problem occurred after about 4 wks, which ties in nice with your 28 day rule.
You NEVER informed me about any possible probs only phone call from lady who said "how u getting along with them , great i said ,   few days later pop! YOU THEN informed me of problems,so,  YOU DID KNOW AT THAT TIME.  And you admitted that to me. back then.
Now as for over half the money    postage is down to you buddy.
I had to mess about   on poles off poles on poles off poles MY TIME, EMAILS ,ETC thats down to me buddy . NO OBLIGATION,?   how about NOT FIT FOR PURPOSE   OBLIGATION.         I accepted cheque which YOU said  concluded matter    not me,  so cashed cheque  to ensure half my money back.
 Funny how quick you respond on here,surely it would be easier all round to do the right thing and pay up. For xmas I had a new computer, reason for playing so much , but you, its new years day for god sake. ALL I WANT FOR XMAS IS MY SIXTY QUID THANKS        Alan      happy new year

The lady who called you was a sales person, who wouldn't have known about the problem.  

As I recall, a couple of months after the show (around when you contacted us) was about when we had tracked down the actual cause, a bad batch of plastic.  We got the information out as soon as possible.

Yes, £70 was the refund, plus postage.  £70 is more than half of £120.

NO OBLIGATION,?   how about NOT FIT FOR PURPOSE   OBLIGATION.
That's the obligation to supply a product that is fit for purpose, which were the replacements that we sent to you promptly.

I try to respond quickly to all messages, as I did to your emails at the time.  It was an extremely busy time for us, but we replied to all messages.  I couldn't have told you anything in a phone call that wasn't in an email, and one advantage is you have a record of everything that's been said.  There haven't been any excuses, we've done our best to let everyone know about the problem, and replace all the units, at a considerable cost.

That's right, and we said "If you still do not accept the offer please return the cheque to us.  We enclose a Recorded Delivery Stamped Addressed Envelope for the return, plus stamps to cover the cost of Recorded Delivery."  You then would have had the option to proceed with court action.

One of your principal statutory rights is the expectation that the item will be of reasonable quality. This also includes fitness for purpose specified, appearance and finish, freedom from minor blemishes, safety and durability. The failure of the product to meet any one of these criteria is a breach in your statutory rights, enabling you to go back to the retailer, even after some months of use.

The retailer’s obligations

If there is an obvious fault with the item at any time within the first 6 months and it has not been caused by wear and tear or misuse, your first port of call must be the shop you bought it from. They have the responsibility to put the matter right, and should not evade this responsibility by referring you to the manufacturer in the context of a guarantee or warranty.

In the first instance and if considered appropriate, the seller must offer to at least repair the goods. They must do this within reasonable time, at no additional cost to you and without causing any significant inconvenience. If any inconvenience is caused you should be given a replacement item on a ‘like for like’ basis (and not simply the cheapest and most basic model). Many consumer complaints relate to the length of time the item is away being repaired – and although you must allow reasonable time for repair, the law does not say what ‘reasonable time’ is. It very much depends on the item itself and the nature of the problem. For most things, shops would usually allow you to exchange the item or give you your money back straight away. However, if the damage is minor and can be repaired easily, then the shop can insist on this as a first option, although this will not stop you from taking it back if the repair is unsatisfactory or there is something else wrong with it.

If a repair is impossible or unfeasible, you must then be offered a replacement. Due to the emphasis on proportionality in this legislation, you must give the seller reasonable time to repair or replace before demanding your money back and you should be aware that any refund given may well take account of any use you have had of the goods since you took possession of them. If you do not want the seller to repair or replace, or they have told you they are unable to, you can then request they reduce the purchase price to an appropriate amount, although this does not affect your ability to take return the item if something else goes wrong
