Went to a customer today who said the last guy turned up with a hoover type thingy with a bottle on the back of it. I think he meant a Vax, he told him to 'do one!'
Who in their right mind would turn up with an effing Vax, or whatever that piece of poop was to supposedly professionally clean somone's carpet. Are these people bonkers, or what?

Just a couple of years after Dyson vacuum systems started to become popular, I went to do a carpet clean job in a local village.
I asked how they had heard about my business.
The lady showed me a small piece of paper, which basically was a home made leaflet offering to vacuum all the carpets in the house, using the fantastic new Dyson technology.
The text included a referral to my business for thorough carpet cleaning with my telephone number included.

I was bit puzzled by this, but on calling this guys number discovered that it was one of my regular customers son, who had distributed the leaflets.
I mean I didn't mind, I got a job out of it, the son by the way was suffering from some kind of mental illness.
