Hi Andy,
Nice to hear from a "proper" window cleaner. ;)

What rubber do you use now?
I've always used Unger soft, but lately they've lasted about 5 minutes, the quality isn't what it was.

Looking back through old posts a lot of people swear by Pulex.
I haven't tried them, but I may now....

Good job I spotted this, as no-one else bothered to reply.
They're all too busy worrying about DI's, pump pressures and resins to service their wet brushes on sticks. ;D

Rog.

We use pulex, but had to use SIR rubbers recently and they seemed to last forever. Quite impressive!

I find its best to use soft rubbers all the time.
I can't get used to hard.

I use both unger and pulex rubbers.
The pulex rubbers seem to be just a fraction thicker but you have to look hard to tell.
And i also think the Pulex rubbers are slightly better but not a lot in it really

Lately Unger soft have been giving me nightmares.

Each time I start a new one I only get through a few houses before there's a chunk out of it near the edge.

It's driving me mad, but hard rubbers just slow me down, they just don't glide well.

Same here. Ran out of Pulex and had to pop to a local supplier to get some.  They only had SYR ones in. Have to say that I also was very impressed with them. Easy to use and seemed to last far longer. ERRR why then did I go and get some more Pulex??   ::)

I've noticed the same with Unger's. The softs are too soft, easily damaged and go 'blunt' within hours and the hards are just way too hard. The slightest bump on a seal or nobble in putty jolts the blade off the glass.

I always use the Unger soft for insides, great.  Then I forget and I use them outside too till they nick, then I change back to hard, and so on.

Just prior to getting my WFP I spent £60 on a big box of Unger Soft rubbers from Screwfix.

I had problems with a bent squeegie channel around the same time I started using them.

But yes, the Unger Soft, they don't seem to last very long at all.  I just assumed I had a bad batch.

I've been using Unger 3* rubbers in my Unger channels - fantastic.  Have just run out so nipped to get some Pulex from the local shop - not good in Unger channels.

Will buy more 3* this week.  Window Cleaning Warehouse (http://www.windowcleaningwarehouse.co.uk) seem to be cheapest at £0.99 + VAT for a 36" strip.

Good all round rubber if you have an Unger channel.
