hi guys, been lurking here for a while especially on the carpet side, however can't afford the cost of starting one, always considered pressure washing anyway so now going for it. Just bought a decent petrol washer and rotary cleaner, practicing on my dads house etc and building a website so will be operational in the new year.

One of the things i'm looking to do is roof cleaning, question is what are your opinions on the so called soft wash method versus pressure washing? What are the pros and cons over and above the pressure washer argument that this does or doesn't do damage to the roof, that's a well documented argument. I'm actually more interested in the effectiveness of the soft wash on a lightly soiled roof that could do with being done but isn't completeley covered in moss requiring muscle to get rid of it. Is there an argument to combine the two methods depending on the state of the roof?

The American's bang on and on and on about soft washing of roofs but the muppets don't realise the state of ours over here compared to their adorable shingles.
Pointing of ridges and valleys will 9 out of 10 times need re doing anyway even before you start pressure washing a roof over here. If there's moss it's more than likely forced the pointing to give way so pricing for all this to be done after the clean should always be an optional extra you throw at the customer.
