Hi could do with some help. I have an ashbys ninja that has developed a crack in the waste tank I've had it plastic welded but it hasn't worked. I've read on another post that it can't be plastic welded. It needs sonic welding does anyone know anywhere in Staffordshire that is capable of this sort of welding as ive rang loads if places and no where seem to do it.
I've purchased some fernox lsx and put it on the crack earlier for a quick fix will test it out tomorrow at a customers hopefully it will work. Any ideas guys.

They will have used the wrong plastic to weld it. It should work and be strong. It looks like HDPE. I would take it back to who ever weded it or take it to someone who knows what their doing.

had this problem it will be polyethylene got it welded but hardly ever use it

if I was you it would be a new tank

if you get it welded I would also fibreglass it aswell

It depends where the split is, it's possible to
drill and plate it , if the split is on a flat area.
This involves drilling a small hole at either end
of the split which stops it travelling further. Then
putting 2 metal plates over the area, one above and
one below. drilling and bolting them together with a
sealant spread on them.
If it's on a seam it needs plastic welding with the
correct HDPE welding kit. Nothing else will adhere
to HDPE, it's too waxy a plastic.

I had a post a few weeks back. Leaking solution tank on altec advantage. Tried liquid metal from Alfords and so far its worked.

Alltec use Marine Fibreglass which is easier to patch.
I repeat there is no adhesive that will permanently
stick to HDPE.
you can only plate or weld it.

Try a plastics company in your area.... eg plastic injection moulding.

A sonic welder will sort this out. Bodging wont.
