Will you be a window cleaner for the rest of your life?
« on: December 08, 2011, 09:26:22 pm »
Hi all , i started as a window cleaner last march , and ive got about a grand and a half round on every 3 weeks. i just wonder if everyone on here will do window cleaning for the rst of their lives or is it a means into getting into bigger things down the line....

Im 32 and just trying to get some direction to my future. i like window cleaning, but i feel i should try and progress further....whats your opinion?

yes hopefully. i am 37 and have worked in factories most of my life in elcetronic workplaces with roles ranging from technician-teamleader and then intoa tannery as a teamleader and then into technical team workig in quality ISO systems and studied H&S gaining nebosh and iosh certification. My plan was to keep going down that road but decided to totally chang emy life and i enjoy it.

In future would also like some other sidelines to keep me interested.

Also thought of doing some H&S work for places but it is very responsible work and ye can be held to account.

In a word - yes.
Worked in a furniture factory for nearly 20 yrs as fully skilled upholsterer - even ran my own reupholstery business alongside the full time job - never want to go back, thinking about it now makes me shiver  :)

Eventually, I want to go back into doing surgery. Private only though. I have to wait on my new licence application being reviewed, then granted.

May not be a future for any of us. What if no one can sort out this financial mess? Quietly, you all may believe there is someone who can, there aint. Maybe a slow gradual decline into third world poverty for the UK. Eventually? Maybe? We all keep doing what appears to be the normal thing because the true reality, the real truth of the matter is just to scary to deal with. We all collectively are mass blocking it all out. Just a thought. brrrrrrr.
Times are a changin. I recon I will do well though. I will trade a homemade wheel for a box of goose eggs cos I can make a wheel. Sorted!!!! You have to keep ahead of the game to survive.

Window cleaning can be very distressing at times.

Wahoo, I've missed that!

window cleaning is a means to an end. it pays reasonable money for little responsibility. so I'm happy staying small and maybe having a little subby help now and then. but it can b what you want it to be, a work hard and build up your own little empire, or work less than full time hours and make a reasonable living.

I'm off all depressed now while thinking of the rest of my life...... :S
