aLITTLE BIT OF HELP NEEDED PLEASE
« on: December 07, 2005, 06:27:43 pm »
Talking of christmas tips i need a little help. I have my son and 2 of his mates collecting 3 nights a week. At christmas they make a right few quid in tips now 2 workers who clean the windows are shouting for a share of these as its them who do the work. Advice on this would be welcomed.

If i worked for you and didn`t get a share of the tips i wouldn`t be very happy,so think about who is actually making you money and be fare,Gaz

the workers should get 75% and your son and his 2 mates spit the rest

bloody hell, its your workers who earn the money by doing the work

the customers are tipping the window cleaners not the collectors.

The way i see it is, Your cleaners are providing a service to your customers and yourself, your son and friends are providing a service to you, So customers tips to the cleaners, and you tip your son and his friends, then treat them all to free drinks on christmas eve.
This years employees could be next years rivals.

Yeah def mate - those guys make YOUR living for you - they are an asset and so you've gotta look after them - tip your son for sure but remember the guys working for you are your team and they need their fair share.

Recieved some great replies on this subject. Think both sides have a point. When i was younger(14ish) i was allowed to keep all my tips. I can see now my dads workforce must have been raging. I agree the people who work for you are the most important in your workforce and must be (as they are) treated well.Outcome is boys will keep their tips and 2 workers will recieve a well deserved bonus which will more than cover the tips made. Thanks for all replies.
