Is anyone else doing as 'well' as this from their sites?

With a search for:

window cleaners birmingham
window cleaning birmingham
window cleaning services birmingham

I get a #1 to #6 ranking, without a limit to UK only search, on Google, Yahoo and AltaVista.
My site isn't brilliant, I couldn't think of much waffle so it's just a one-page effort Also, I haven't bothered getting a proper domain name co.uk. Would this be putting people off - even domestic? Is my spiel rubbish or do punters simply not bother with the web to look for trades?

Thanks Paul, Yeah, it's all me own work. I was thinking about becoming a web designer but the scene went arse up when I was into it so the idea died a death - much like my sites punter pulling power

I'm not as up on engine rankings as I used to be but I think most engine spiders pay more attention to the page text rather than the meta info - less open to abuse. Try adding some waffle on your index page and repeat the words you think people are looking. It's trickier than it sounds though; it's a balancing act between getting loads of keywords in without it sounding cobblers and not being done for spamming. I had my first site removed from Google for that - I managed to get 'window cleaning' into every sentence! Also, a specific area/location helps a lot.

Thanks Mark. Like I said a few posts up, I was really in to it a few years ago, so I just write this stuff using Notepad. Tack javascript onto the end of my address to see some examples.
