Drimaster - Saphire tools
« on: November 22, 2011, 11:29:05 pm »
Looking at getting the drimaster or Saphire tool but heard they use a lot of water

On average how much water does this type of tool use on a 10 cushion 3 piece suite?

use the Saphire and would go through most of the solution tank on a 3pc suite so about 40+ litres, its the only down side to this tool though as its light, cleans in either direction the handle rotates too. When i got it i thought this feels quite cheap but soon realised that its all to reduce weight and user fatigue which is does it makes cleaning upholstery almost enjoyable.

Dave,
One of the differences between the DM2 and the SS is that the SS can be used in trigger or fixed flow modes, whereas the DM2 doesn't have a trigger feature and so tends to use a lot more water. The other advantage of the SS is that you can use it as effectively on portables. The DM2 is cumbersome in comparison to the SS but both clean equally well IMO.

The Drymaster does have an on/off valve
though.
On a 3 piece I can go through a tank and
a half with the DM but I only flush suites
with plain water so no expense there.
55 - 60 litres??
Got to remember to keep checking the
waste tank too.
If your turning machine off for a few minutes
shut the valve off on the tool first.
Done it twice now where I've not shut off then
turned on pump minutes later but adjusted pressure
before turning vacs on.
Get out the towels!!!
