I got my ro from Ro-Man

25 ltr barrels from a local supplier, Pure Freedom trolley and pole from Andrew Mc Cann, its got the battery and pump already built in fits in back of an estate car. Ive never looked back

That's a relief. I thought the giraffe was a new type of waterfed pole system. You know, give it lots to drink before you go out, position it by the windows, teach it to spit on windows at command.

This has cost me about £580.00 all told

100 Gpd R/O from Ro-Man £145.41
30ft pole assembly from Gardiner £156.23
Trolley from Machine mart £ 30.50
6x 25ltr water drums from Cleantec £ 30.00
Varistream2 from Cleantec £ 75.00
Shurflow 100 psi pump from Cleantec £ 89.00
Battery from local supplier £ 26.00
2 x Hozeloc stop connectors £ 7.90
2 x S/Steel Flexi hoses from PTS £ 5.00
Pressed steel cabinet from local scrap £ 15.00
210 ltr water butt from B&Q £ 26.00
Luggage strap from local shop £ 1.45

Plus a few other bits n pieces gleaned from my garage .... Screws nuts bolts hosepipe wire & connectors etc etc.

I think it looks really smart.

But your pole will be a bit heavy and bulky for regular residential use - unless you have a large round consisting of lots of three story buildings.

I think an 18 foot pole of a similar make would be better.

Also how do you control your water flow? I've a 60 psi pump that spurts water out like there's no tomorrow. I've got to get a variflow for it. How does your 100 psi cope?

I'm controlling mine with Varistream 2
It works like a dream ... turn it up to boost and it pumps out like you never seen but turn it down to mark 3 or 4 and it's just a slow trickle

on mark 4 it will pump up to 30ft no problem

and on the pole comment I have noticed its a bit of a monster but then I bought it for a few larger accounts that I have.
When money is not quite so tight an 18ft pole might be just the thing

Very well done Chris

Thats by far the best DIY trolley I have seen so far.

I think you will find the wheels a bit too small and flimsy by the look of them. I think they are solid from what I see as well so be carefull going up and down steps with it. I give my Freedom trolley some real abuse and I think its only the wheels that have saved it from some major bad bumps. I like the way you have encased your pump and battery and adding the varistream is a very good move.

Have to agree with Tosh about that 30 ft pole OUCHHHH for working on domestics. I know Xmas etc is coming up but for your sake get an 18 ft as soon as you can mate.

All in all though Chris.. seriously thats a great job you did there

Looks really neat. That varistream 2 is a clever little thing isn't it? I hope it doesn't wear out the pump! I've got one too. I leave it running far too long I'm sure.

A lot more 'street cred' than that giraffe you use. All that poo you had to clear up.

nice system

the only thing i would change and this inst a critisim, its just so people dont make the same mistake

the pipe connections (in and out) are better mounted on the top of the box, and NOT THE SIDE, as when you go down alleys / side paths, you hit the connections and they break, i know this from my experience

Nice setup , one thing i have noticed tho is ...... if you have to go up a step , does that metal box cause you any problems being so low down ?

I use the exact same pole , i was going to go for a shorter one but i would never be able to reach the windows above conservs , do all you 18 foot users take 2 poles to the backs with you ?

I have noticed if I lean trolley down too far the box does scrape the floor so it may be a problem going up steps but then there aren't many trolleys that are good for going up steps
But also I'm 6ft so trolley is useually at about 100-110 Degrees, if I was shorter it might lean over more and catch the ground.
