I'm not that impressed with the vikan 10cm brush, I have been paying very carefull attention on downstairs windows to see if the dirt is being filterd through the brush as you clean the glass, and it is not filtering the dirt away, it seams to hold dirt within the brush head itself. I dont know if its because their are too many bristles, the density of bristles, or the featherd ends.

I will have to see how I go on. Might have to try a diffrent brush. I have only been going 3 days wfp, But I am not impressed with the job I am doing so far, Leaving lots of spots. water is 0 tds, Spending ages on the frames, spending lots of time on the glass. and rinseing like a deludge. But I still can not get them as good as traditional, If I dont get it right in 3 months I could be loseing customers or going back traditional.

isnt that why we rinse the glass after the brushing stage ?? ?? ?? ?

I have only just started wfp this week and I am more than impressed and think the finished result has been far better than trad..
But I must say I may have gone a bit overboard with the rinsing.
But on inspection of the finished result tonight they are spot on.
Most my customers have commented on the frames and how clean they look.
I havent got an expensive set up.
Vikan brush, 40 psi surflo pump courtesy of Gaz 500 litre tank in the van.

Its 0tds in my static tank after going through the ro and di vessell. Then pumped into Van tank and it goes through another DI vessell on its merry way up my pole.
The end result is not good. OK the upvc  frames are looking good, the windows are not. I am a perfectionist and I am a window cleaner first and foremost not a upvc cleaner.

The sucsses of the wfp system will be judged on what it deleivers on the glass. Quality is KING in my book. If I cannot get it right with wfp over a period of time. I will sell the system on.

I am not in despair at the momment, as a good freind of mine did not get it right with wfp when he started. In the first 2 months he wanted to get rid of it. He now worships it.

I have educated my customers not to expect it to be right for 3 -  4 cleans. So it is giveing me some breathing space.  But it is my confidence in wfp that is taking a real battering. 26 yrs of w/ cleaning and I feel lost. Lucky I can charm the pants off 99% of the population. I think I'm going to need it.

anyone would think i have a promotional deal from Salmon! -the reason i like it is for this very reason, water washes through it taking the dirt with it. the vikan holds on to the water as you say, along with the dirt. It sounds like you are worried it might be the water as you put pure water back though another DI (!) but i think it might just be your brush not getting rid of the dirt from the window. Definitely give it a try. Break from the vikan heard!

This site is for window cleaners to discuss window cleaning ,there was a time when you could not have a discussion without manufacturers jumping in saying in effect "buy mine ,Buy mine" and that will just drive everyone away because yo u may as just fill this place with adverts.

I was simply having a laugh about the post as you could look at it and it could appear staged which personally i dont think it is ,But that is the usual way manufacturers stage a post to get publicity.

I respect Alex at Gardenersystems in fact i have bought 2 water tanks from them in the past and they are very good to deal with and he is a very good contributor on here .
I have had a bit of friendly banter with mr freedompole and it is all good humour and it keeps them honest,
If you come here to insult after only 10 posts well you had better just go as i dont think i am on my own in not wanting people like you around here.You know where the door is

There will always be a difference of opinion on this site but i think situations can always be sorted out without abuse aimed at each other.  We all come on here to help each other and learn and with some suppliers on here its very helpful to advance our business.

sorry mate im new to all this forum stuff have never been on one in me life and it just got to me i aint no manufactor i am trying to build a system for my self as i am new to it all and cant afford to spend out lots so i was told by someone to get on here and ask for help and info

you should read between the lines  as a lot of the banter goes back a long time.

We all have a subtle dig at each other from time to time and sometimes there is a long standing joke going on which is not obvious to new users.

Manufacturers are most welcome here especially the ones who freely give advice without constantly plugging there own equipment.
Both Andrew Mcann and Alex Gardiner are very good contributors on here and are very respected along with most manufacturers who come here from time to time.
I know of one or two who give a plug at every other reply and it starts to get tedious.


I was not having a dig at anyone one ,just the pattern of the post reminded me of a few that got caught out on here and another forum ,even though i knew this post was honest.

Fire away and ask for advice and it will be freely given,but remember we have a sense of humour as well.
