I know a bit abou it, it's gonn be the new PIC I reckon, will you be laying the epoxy or PU system?
Also is it the bound (trowel) or bonded (scatter coat) system your doing? how much did you quote per m2?

seems to be getting more pop looks great if used in the right areas. as said refurb a few this yr with care wash treat acry seal

Gone for the trowel down method so no lose stones as will need to be washed in future - looking around £25/m profit , but as existing custy using it to gain experience nice small area. Just hope weather keeps mild  ;D ;D

yeah, so is it epoxy or PU resins you will be using? who's supplying it to you mate? i spent almost 12 months looking in to it as i had a contract lined up but never saw it out as it got to winter by the time everything was ready. Would be interested in having a chat with you to see how it goes for you mate.
good luck with it mate

its resin based (2 part resin / hardener) product supplied via PICS we use them gen for tarmac coating, gen seals no prob, would only use this on light wearing areas patios / pathways as their rec thicknes only 6mm, I know some are double or treble that. Really using it as a tester let u know how it goes but down to weather!

We lay a lot of this in shops.  It is only 3mm thick trowelled on it's really hard wearing

It's probably got a tiny aggregate in it then, more like a slurry I would have thought, almost like a grain as the thickness of the resin has to be at least double the size of the biggest aggregate, mike will probably be using 1 - 3mm aggreagte hence 6mm thickness, if you use 2 - 5 mm aggresgate then it would be 10mm thick, if on more heavy tafficked areas then anything as much as 21mm, reommennded a minumum of 15mm on driveways unless using epoxy you can go to down 10mm.

yep its 1-2mm... dont think i would use process on driveways, have seen a few trowel down method (around 10mm thk as you say larger agr) which have been  ripped apart locally due to tight turning circles... my plan is for only small projects alleyways etc will produce instant transformation + cheaper compared to rip up and lay blocks etc. With maint in future for either washing or algae treatment. I know they rec 2 man team to mix / lay will try it by myself to see if feasible..   When Kev lays it in shops obviously subject to far less wear just foot traffic assume 3mm acceptable.

3mm is acceptable as long as the aggregate is less than 1.5mm, it looks good indoors, sometimes called 'stone carpets'.
Also if using a white stone then the UV stable version has to be used otherwise it turns yellow, not a proble if using darker stone such as red, brown, etc
Matt, just google resin bound aggregate mate, theres a few suppliers

3mm is all it is and as tough as nuts when it's cured but your right it is only foot traffic in shops apart from the odd cherry picker, awp and scissor lifts.  We put down a 175M2 last Sunday night actually.

yer just hired it in for a day..... Product we used was PICSBOND from PICS UK, in fairness worked really well I managed to apply primer, whilst  mixing resin / hardener /stones primer went tacky then layed, as it was mild had a longer cure time .. summer time would need one mixing atleast one laying.

Man the stuff sticks to everything  ;D ;D took about an hour to clean mixer  ;D ;D

xylene/solvent cleans that stuff well when it's tacky

yer I know, You have to damp the trowel constantly with xylene in order to spread / compact  ;)

But you cant clean mixer properly until your finished   ;D Left some on top of trowel thinking it would easily break away as metal er... no  ;D ;D
