HOW MANY LADDER USERS USE A SAFETY DEVICE WITH THEIR LADDERS?
YOU CAN TELL BY HOW MANY VEIWINGS OF THIS,AND HOW MANY REPLIES YOU GET,
BY THE WAY I USE A ROJAK AND MITTS WHEN I USE LADDERS.

I have used neither but my ladder has a stabiliser bar if that counts. I do need a rojak though for 1 inside clean i do.

I only use my ladders occasionally now I'm mainly wfp but I have ladder mitts on top and "lyte" articulated feet (oblong about 4" x 2") on the bottom.

I always use a stability device.

I understand it has to be something that is attached to the ladder as an extra, not just part of it?

I use ladder mitts i have a rojak but very rarely use it only when nessacary. I dont think its needed on every window, also got my wfp now

last week it colapsed on me and i fell
only cut my hands though but there still sore none the less

i used to have a rojak ladder stopper

BUT

now i use WFP i only get the ladder out 5 times every 6 weeks, and thats to get on a flat roof, and i park my trolley behind the ladders (side on) to its like some1 footing it

don't bother with rojak because its a pain to carry around

i have articulated rubber feet, oblong ones, with 'studds' (got em from lansfords)

tried once standing on the bottom rung with ladders at 45o, still gripped.
(i obviously always clean windows at 45o now!)

I use the oblong articulated feet, mitts (home made since I lost the bought ones) and stand offs for tall windows. The big feet are life savers and for around £20 everyone should get them.

Thanks for the warning....like I said they all only get v. occassional use, but I will be more carefull with the stand-off now.

I use a stabliser bar, allways have done since I converted my ladder to a pointer. I have a rubber bobbin at the top so I can go to corners. ALso have none slip shower matting stuck on with silicone to prevent any sideways slip.
If they made ladder mitts with steps cut into them they would be much safer.
The cut out steps would sit on the sill and the ladders could not slip sideways or backwords. just a thought Dai.
