rusty hose connectors
« on: November 04, 2011, 02:12:36 pm »
Is there a solution to keeping the quick connects on my pressure washer hose free from rust?

I've just used the machine for first time in 6 weeks and the quick connects and bearings were a bit of a struggle to connect. Light rust has emerged.

Any solutions or remedies I should be using?

Yes buy stainless fittings - they last longer and are not much more expensive

I use M22 (karcher type) screw fittings because of this problem, last much longer and more robust, for quick connct I use kew type spiggots so all i need is one gun that i inset all my lances into, even converted my fsc to be inserted into my gun aswell, much cheaper than buying different guns for lances too.

use a silicon spray after use when the fittings are dry on both male and female connectors. this will stop the rusting and make coupling and uncoupling very much easier
