Do you sell just on price then?
It's not expensive, you just can't afford it.

You can't buy stainguard to put on a carpet at £10. I wouldn't worry another numpty who'll be out of business pretty soon.

craftex carpet protector around £20.00/ 5l

He`ll soon realise it dont pay.

New co round here using airflex and charging £25.00 for a lounge carpet and £25 for a sofa.

In 21 years these guys come and go there only way of attracting business is on price.

Do what you do, dont change to compete with these morons.

Dont worry John just focus on what you do, I have seen 2 similar come and go in the last 18 months, one was doing 3 pc suite all the carpets and the oven for £70. Customers even used to comment and laugh at him to me when i went to do the job i think to some extent they can even help us out in the ling run mate.

It seems to me a lot of people keep doing the same thing and expect a different result.
You`ve got to lift your game. Its not all about price. Here`s an email I got today, I haven't even spoken to the guy.

"Dear Mr Watson,
Thank you for your response. A total price of £150 for the three rooms and hall is acceptable as long as I am getting a thorough job done. Another quote I received was for £85.00 so I assume you provide a superior service. Can we arrange for you to carry out the work".

I know guys on here who would get more.

I hope you are supplying a better service! ;D

Good post Rab

Cleaners can be lazy sods, customers will call for price but it's more than just that what about asking them what they would like ie thorough or dry or excessive spot removal or timing etc

Who knows Shaun?
As JK said recently "No one went out of business because they couldn't clean a carpet".

True and it comes back to buying from the 'person' as Robert Meldrum stated.

Not that worried I've seen one come and go
round here already.
Isn't life funny, there's 4 other cc within 4 miles
of me and I've never seen one of them and spoken
once with one over the phone.
On Wedneday I parked at Tesco and behind me was
one them parked up.
Went up the stairs and across the bridge into the high
street and one of the others went driving past as I
walked out.
On Friday another one of them drove across from me
as I waited at a T junction.
Nearly 4 years after starting up and no sign of the
competition then 3 in 2 days.
