Hello Telboy,
I do not believe any specific regs apply? It would come under the banner of the Managment Regs 1999 & HSAW 1974. Basically a Safe System of Work should be implemented (SSOW)... the definition of SSOW can be taken as "The intergration of Personnel, Articles & Substances in a Suitable Enviroment & Work Place to Produce & Maintain an Acceptable Standard of safety". This sounds rather "Legal Speak"! ... but basically it boils down to
1: "Person" (Trained / Competant)
2: "Ladders" (Suitable for job ? "Fit for Purpose")
3: "Appropriate cleaning agents"
4: " Enviroment" e.g. Floors not covered in hazardous materials
5: " Workplace ... Risk assesment carried out to ascertain suitability of area for tasks to be implemented" eg Can I put ladder next to desk? Possible hazards could be employees at desk/ chairs on castor/ Fire doors with no viewing pane etc etc
It would be prudent to obtain a risk assesment from the company that work is expected to be carried out... A risk assesment & appropriate method statement should be compiled.
Hope that is a bit of help?
All the best..... safelydoesit

hi there,
as soon as you step of the ground onto something, you are working at height, therefore WAHD is what you need to look at.
You need to do the risk assessment, not the client.
