does any one know the going rate for taking on an assistant, i was thinking of a third of what i earn weekly, is this a fair wage?

25% of the take maximum .based on 2 working together. about 16-20%  being ideal .any more than that and you will not make profit if you do it all by the book .

i think 20% is fair. remember ur running costs, wear and tear, insurance etc. good luck

6 months ago i took on a guy and paid him 20%
i have now increased it to 25% as he is a darned good worker
