I don't think customers would like you using a phone to input their card details but if they watched you do it on a computer screen or tablet it would look more professional

Not tried it, but looked into it today.

For me I think it's worth consideration, even with their charges it still is better value than terminal rental.

Ive been thinking the same thing.

Ive just signed up all you do is go onto payatrader site, log into your account then click on virtual terminal, input customers card details. Or if you dont think customers would be happy to put details into phone/ipad then you could phone them when you "get back to the office where the terminal is" and take payment the same way or using your laptop.

Its the same thing only customers are probably more acustomed to paying for some thing over the phone as opposed to us imputing there details into our phones etc infront of them.

Aternatively the customer an log onto payatrader website input your number and pay you, also from what I can gather they can phone payatrader, thats where the £3.00 charge is.

I had a chat with the payatrader guy at the carpet cleaners carnival and they have a conventional type terminal in the pipeline also.

I have an iPad 1 so guess it has a sim card option. Never looked!

only if it's a 3G + WiFi model. some are WiFi only. You can however tether them to your iPhone if you have one for mobile Internet.

I have seen similar systems on the market, does anyone know if you need to open a merchant bank account or if there is an app for the iPhone? seeing as i would like to be able to take a payment on site without expecting the customer to log on etc...

So a setup charge of £83 based on a single cardholder
Up to £250 of card sales per week will cost 2.95% per transaction
Then i get confused... "minimum fee online" says its .30p or if its a telefphone transaction its £3.00.. are these fees ON TOP of the 2.95% ???

Here is an alternative i have found.. gonna be more of a hassle to set up and a monthly fee though

Russ see my last post, no need for merchant account pay your £54 (£25 cleanit up discount) and i was up and running in less than 24 hours.

No need for app just go on payatrader site on your phone, log in and click virtual terminal ive just done it on my phone. If you want to give me your card details we could process a payment just to make sure  ;D ;D ;D though they may have an app I dont know.

No monthly fees, £0-£250 in payments/week 2.95% with a £0.30 minimum charge.

Have been using the adelante system through my iphone for most of the year, cant fault it really,

never once had a customer question payments through my phone, just tell them it acts like a conventional terminal.

easy to set up, genrally costs me £15.00 a month

What i like is you can add as many phones to your account as you like at no extra cost, so if you ahve others working for you they can take payments as well.

For myself think i would rather use my phone in my pocket rather having to risk taking an ipad around with me.

Regards
Steve
