you can undo the threaded small bore entry and exit and change them for hoselock

How quickly would this method take to fill a 25 litre container?

I take it you use one of these to fill up 'on site'?

Hi Tosh no in my van i have two 25ltrt di vessels to polish the water after its been through ro.With the bigger vessels ie 25ltr the resin should only need changing every 18-24 months as its a bigger vessel

If I opted for a bigger vessel could I use it on it's side or dose it have to be upright?

Thanks,  but what advantage does that give you over putting your RO water through a DI where your static tank is?

I'm not being 'smart' here, I genuinely don't understand.

I'm only small cheese and work from my car using a back pack and I'm limited by my water carrying capacity.  I intend to get a trailer shortly but in the meantime, is it possible to produce 000 TDS water from an outside tap - quickly - through a DI?

I'm sure it is (I think), but haven't a clue what DI vessel to get.

The idea of a DI vessel in my trailer is to polish off the RO water after
transfer to the trailer, but befor it goes up the pole!today for example
my tds today was .002pmm at the pole. putting it through a DI unit would
remove any small amount of impurities left over from water transfer or any
other minor contamination (belt and braces)

Thanks Steve,

So it's a 'safety' precaution, just in case your water gets contaminated before it goes up the pole.

I learn something new every day.

BUT

if you put pure water into a container / tank, the water will stay pure, well it allways has for me, and my barrels have bits of leaves and berries in the bottom of them

BUT its still 000 tds

isnt it a bit overkill ?? ?? ?? ??

Don't knock it, if it works, it works.

But can you get a DI to refill up on site?  Something smallish and would it take long to get a 100 litres out of it?

I am not sure but looking at pro built systems they all seem to
have DI polishing units. now I thought the idea was thet even if the reading from the Ro went up a few TDS even over a few days
you could still go to work knowing your TDS was 000ppm
as it woulg be going through the DI unit on site

is this not right?

not knocking it, i just think its overkill and not needed

yes, you could use it to knock-out 100 L of water from a tap, the only downside is, the resin would be depleted rather quickly

in theory YES, but most pro built systems have a RO in the van aswell, as its all self-contained, so i guess the DI is part of that

Ive been chatting to a local guy who has a Ionics system, that has a DI bottle in the van, he says incase he runs out on site and needs some pure water

Im only speaking from personal useage, i have 2 Barrels sat in my front foot-well, that have bits of leaves etc in the bottom, they have been unused for about 2 weeks, they will stil be 000 TDS

000 TDS doesnt just start to rise and become impure, well not to the extent we need to worry about

another thing

When you see these trolley system, DIY or pro made, they dont have any resin containers built on them

Im not trying to convince you not to buy a DI container, just trying to save you a few quid if its not needed
